  1. Earth 2

Earth 2 was born on 2020 AD. As described on its website, Earth 2 is a futuristic concept for a second earth; a metaverse, between virtual and physical reality in which real-world geolocations on a sectioned map correspond to user generated digital virtual environments. These environments can be owned, bought, sold, and in the near future deeply customized.

As of the time that I am writing this article, UAE and Dubai will be available on the Earth 2 website within 11 hours 46 minutes and 7 seconds.

As part of Earth 2’s vision, they are betting on the fact that Virtual Land will increase in value over time based on demand, location and earning potential, much the same way that physical land does.

People are buying into the concept. According to the LeaderBoard on the website which shows a list of the highest networth of individuals on the website, the number 1 spot shows an investment of upwards of a quarter of a million dollars.

2. Digital Art NFTs

Mike Winkelmann who goes by the name Beeple has created a drawing every single day for the last 13 and a half years. As described on Christies website, Beeple’s visionary and often irreverent digital pictures have propelled him to the top of the digital art world, winning him 1.8 million followers on Instagram and high-profile collaborations with global brands ranging from Louis Vuitton to Nike, as well as performing artists from Katy Perry to Childish Gambino.

Bleepy brought together all the digital pictures that he had produced in the last 13 and a half years in EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS, a unique work in the history of digital art which realised a sale value of $69,346,250 in an auction by Christies.

This makes Christies the first major auction house to offer a purely digital work with a unique NFT (Non-fungible token) — effectively a guarantee of its authenticity — and to accept cryptocurrency, in this case Ether, in addition to standard forms of payment for the singular lot.Beeple is selling these works as NFTs — nonfungible tokens — digital collectibles that use blockchain technology as authentication.

3. Internet Gurus and Scammers

The youtuber Coffeezilla has a very interesting Youtube channel on which he exposes fake gurus, fake news and fake courses.

As Charlie Munger states in his video, that if you “take the modern world where people are trying to teach you how to come in and trade actively in stocks…well I regard that as roughly equivalent of trying to induce a bunch of young people to start on heroin…it is really stupid.”

One of the cases which I followed with interest on Coffeezilla’s channel was how he exposed the fake guru Jay Mazini which eventually ended up in the arrest of Jay Mazini.

Jay Mazini would have posts on Instagram whereby he has been giving money to individuals which he supposedly made from his clothing line and academy. However if you followed Jay Mazini’s channel, you would realize that he had different techniques for raising this money including by doing “give-aways” whereby he would state that for a certain amount of items purchased on his website, he would give away large amounts of cash exceeding the price of the orders to the customers.

This unsustainable business model ended up Jay Mazini in court.
